This is only partially true. Advanced Currency Management can be enabled in the company profile, but once it's enabled and records have been created, it cannot be disabled. If no records have been created yet, it can be disabled.
to correct the above statement.. seems that we can disable the ACM even with inflight records. But leads to inconsistent data. If there are existing Opportunity, Quote, or other currency-related records that were created or modified while ACM was enabled, the values on those records will remain based on the exchange rates at the time they were created or modified. Disabling ACM will stop Salesforce from applying different exchange rates for records created or updated after the change.
