What nudges me toward C is the wording. If Microsoft meant Read Replica, I’d expect terms like: Readable secondary, Read scale, Secondary server, or Promote replica. Instead, they used: paired region business continuity Those phrases seem much more in line with Microsoft’s geo-backup terminology.
Why? Read replica → asynchronous replication to another region → fast failover / minimal downtime. Geo-redundant backup → useful for disaster recovery, but requires restore, causing more downtime. Premium file shares → not the HA mechanism. Native MySQL replication → not the recommended Azure-managed solution.
