Least Privilege is the principle that RBAC is based on. Least Privilege - Users and systems should be granted the minimum level of access — or permissions — necessary to perform their job functions and no more. RBAC uses this principle; it creates roles in the Active Directory to grant certain privileges based on what role or group you are put in. (AD is just an example, and could be any management system that performs the same functions)
Role-based is the correct answer because the issue arises from the engineer's account not being updated to include the new role associated with the new team's shared folders. Role-Based Access Control is the framework in place that determines access based on roles assigned to users, making it the most relevant explanation for the engineer's access issue.
why not least privilege?
