When a critical regulatory feature is discovered missing in an agile project with a fixed deadline, the PM should engage stakeholders to assess impact before taking action.
B. Invite stakeholders to discuss the impact of adding the regulatory feature. Because the feature is regulatory, it may be mandatory for the product release. However, the project has a fixed release date and only eight iterations, so the project manager should not simply add it without understanding the impact. The PM should bring the right stakeholders together to discuss: * Compliance impact * Priority of the missing feature * Schedule impact * Scope trade-offs * Whether other backlog items need to be deprioritized
This is the very first step to bring the team into this awareness. The product owner is part of this stakeholder, as well as legal subject matter experts.
