- Average velocity = (22 + 26 + 24 + 28) / 4 = 25 story points per sprint. Velocity is used to forecast how much work the team can complete in future sprints and to estimate when features will be delivered. Teams should use the average (not the highest or lowest) for realistic planning. Velocity should never be used for individual performance evaluation.
