When a team member is in distress, the PM must respond supportively in that moment as the first action. Immediate empathy + problem-solving is the expected PMP response. A team member is in distress and reaching out right now. The PMP servant leadership mindset puts people first: the PM is on the phone with someone who is crying, so the immediate human response is to listen, show empathy, and then talk through what to do next. You don't dismiss the person in the moment.
As a PM, make sure you show compassion, and also learn to reduce immediate pressure. I understand it's the weekend, but a leader should de-escalate stress and be compassionate at all times. B addresses the immediate response to calm the team member down.
