today this question was on my exam and answer is correct. 1- Use the first row as headers. 2- Unpivot all the columns other than Measure. 3- Rename the Attribute column as Year. 4- Change the data type of the Year column to Date.
1. Transpose 2. use first row as column 3.rename measure to year 4. year is text and may stay text or be changed to whole number; change to date give stupid dates from the beginning of last century So this question is not set up entirely well
* Answer: - 1. Use the first row as headers (Ensures proper column names before transformation.) - 2. Unpivot all the columns other than Measure (Converts wide format into long format for time-series analysis.) - 3. Rename the Attribute column as Year (So the unpivoted column clearly represents the year.) - 4. Change the data type of the Year column to Date (Required for time intelligence and YoY calculations.) * Not used: - Use headers as the first row (reverse of what we need) - Rename the Measure column as Year (incorrect) - Transpose the table (not needed for this scenario) After these steps, the table will look like: Measure | Year | Value which supports visualizations over time and DAX time intelligence.
