I understand they say the correct answer is D, however, to me, the correct order would be B, D, C, A. By creating the new workspace first, you have it available immediately to onboard the devices to after offboarding them from the existing workspace. This minimizes the amount of time the devices are unmanaged and gets them into a workspace with the data in the correct location.
I originally thought the first step would have been to delete the workspace, however, Co-pilot has provided a decent insight into this question and along with the workflow to complete the requirement. ✅ D. Offboard the test devices Here’s why: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint data storage region is set during the initial onboarding of devices to the service. Once devices are onboarded and telemetry starts flowing, the data is stored in the region defined at that time (in your case, the United States). To change the data storage region to Europe, you must: 1. Offboard all currently onboarded devices (including the 10 PoC devices). 2. Delete the existing Defender for Endpoint tenant (which is tied to the original region). 3. Provision a new tenant with the desired data residency (Europe). 4. Re-onboard all devices to the new tenant.
Note: Offboarding alone doesn’t change the workspace or data location. and before deleting the workspace, you must offboard all onboarded devices.
