The pluralsight resource I'm using talks only about Delivery Plans. They will display and "track" dependencies based on the successor / predecessor links, or affects, or produces for. It is builtin and works accross mulitple organizations provided that they use the same AD. I think that today the correct vote is A.
Correct Answer: C. Explanation: Dependency Tracker Extension: This extension provides a visual overview of dependencies (consumers and producers) in a user-friendly manner. It is ideal for multiteam or multi-project setups, allowing stakeholders to track interdependencies effectively. Other Options: 1. A. Predecessor or Successor links: Useful for sequencing tasks but does not provide an overview of all projects. Hard to manage when scaling across multiple teams/projects. 2. B. Parent or Child links: Effective within a single project for hierarchical relationships but unsuitable for cross project dependency management. Fails to provide a clear distinction between consumers and producers. 3. D. Custom queries and dashboard widgets: Can provide tailored views but lacks the visual clarity and specialised functionality of the Dependency Tracker extension. Requires significant manual configuration and effort to maintain as projects grow.
If there is an answer option of Delivery Plans, this should be selected, simply because this is advised by MS official documentation -> We recommend that you use Delivery Plans to track dependencies instead of Dependency Tracker. The Dependency Tracker extension is not a supported feature of Azure Boards and isn't supported by any product team. For questions, suggestions, or issues you have when using the extension, visit the Marketplace for Azure DevOps, Dependency Tracker extension page. The Dependency Tracker extension is only available on Azure DevOps Services. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/boards/extensions/dependency-tracker?view=azure-devops
