  The typical scenario for Service Map is to identify the dependency like between frontend web app, the backend API and the database. Its 2026 now, The Log Analytic Agent has been replaced by Azure Monor Agent using Data Collection Rule(DCR). The Dependency Agent is still required, actually when Azure Monitor VM insights or Service Map is enabled, both Azure Monitor Agent and Dependency Agent are installed in the VM.
