How are these answers generated? I think the answer of AC is wrong. Validation rules only apply when saving fields so A is incorrect. Validation rules do not update field, so B is incorrect. You can't leave the error message blank when setting up the validation rule so D is out of question. Therefore the answer is C.
I think A and C are correct. B isn't true because validation rules don't update anything. D isn't true because an error message is required.
