From the exhibit, both routers are showing the HSRP state as "Active", which indicates a split-brain condition — each router believes it is the active router because they cannot authenticate each other properly. Looking closely at the configuration: R1: key-string Cisco123! R2: `key-string Cisco123`` (note the incorrect ending backslash or quote mismatch) This mismatch in the key-string used for MD5 authentication means the routers cannot authenticate each other, so they do not form a standby relationship and both remain in the active state.
All members of the same HSRP group must share the same virtual address, so we need to configure a unique virtual IP address for our HSRP group (Group 10)
These are all bad answers. Thre does need to be a single Virtual IP Address but the way D. is worded it sounds like R1 and R2 just need their own unique Virtual IP address which isn't the case either. The answer should really say something to the effect of: D. configure a shared unique Virtual IP address for the shared HSRP group of R1 and R2. That's the correct answer.
