For split operation PowerQuery automaticallly set data type to date for "left side". For extract left 11 it keeps still text type. Checked in PowerQuery.
My Answer was C, but I ran into this question somewhere from Microsoft, the only difference from this question is the option wasn't "first 11 characters" instead it was "extract the column's first characters that only contain the date" I selected C which they assessed as wrong, I do agree that C is the best approach but perhaps its about simplicity and that the time column is not needed. Since I got C wrong, the correct answer must be D
* Answer: C. Split the Logged column by using “at” as the delimiter. * Explanation: The value 2018-12-31 at 08:59 contains both date and time separated by “at.” Splitting by this delimiter gives two columns: one for the date and one for the time. Then you can set the date column’s data type to Date, enabling Power BI’s built-in date hierarchy. * Other options: A/D (extract characters) → Risky because lengths can vary; not reliable. B (change type directly) → Fails because the format includes text (“at”).
