File Analysis: File Name IP Address Count Matches Policy (≥2 IPs)? File1.docx 1 ❌ No File2.txt 2 ✅ Yes File3.xlsx 2 ✅ Yes File4.bmp 3 ✅ Yes File5.doc 5 ✅ Yes User Roles: User1: Owner – Can see all files, including restricted ones. User2: Visitor – View-only access, but will be blocked from accessing restricted files. Result: User1 (Owner): Can see all 5 files, regardless of DLP restrictions. User2 (Visitor): Blocked from accessing File2.txt, File3.xlsx, File4.bmp, File5.doc due to DLP restriction. Can only access File1.docx. Final Answers: User1: 5 User2: 1 ✅ ______________________________________________

User1: 1 User2: 1 Because the condition matches files with 2+ IP addresses (File2–File5 = 4 files) and the action blocks everyone from accessing the matched content, leaving only File1 visible to both users. If the DLP action is Block everyone, then being the site Owner does not mean User1 can still see the matched (restricted) files. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/purview/dlp-policy-reference.
Final Answer User1: 5 User2: 2 ✅ This matches Microsoft’s documented behavior for SharePoint DLP: “When access is restricted, only the site owner, document owner, and last modifier retain access.”
Answer: User1 - 5 User2 - 2 User1 - Owner can see all 5 files. ... the [sharepoint DLP] policy can automatically block access to those documents for everyone but the site owner, content owner, and whoever last modified the document. User2 - Visitor - policy applies - can see 2 files. Can see File1.docx (less than 2 IP's) AND File4.bmp (assuming OCR scanning is not enabled). OCR scanning is not mentioned in the question, so assume it is not enabled.
